Fluorocarbon, Diameter / Strength LBS: 0.46 - 0.59mm
Fluorocarbon Line
The fluorocarbon line is essentially a monofilament line. However, it is made from a specific material (polyvinylidene fluoride), which gives it unique properties, such as being denser than monofilament line and having a specific refractive index close to that of light, making it almost invisible in water.
The main advantage of fluorocarbon stems from this characteristic, which is that it is invisible underwater. Its strength is comparable to that of monofilament line when considering specific diameters, but due to the unique bonds of the elements it comprises, it has a low stretch rate, excellent abrasion resistance, and typically a longer lifespan compared to classic monofilament lines.
