Buzzbars

A buzzbar is essentially a bar that screws onto a bank stick or rod pod and, together with support heads or alarms, allows two or more rods to be held securely in place. Buzzbars are available in a variety of configurations and sizes. Their name comes from their most common use, namely supporting electronic alarms, often referred to in English as buzzers. Combined with the word bar, this gives the name buzzbar.

Buzzbars are therefore a practical addition to any setup, used together with bank sticks, tripods, or rod pods, as well as support heads, to hold the rods securely. In practice, two buzzbars are most commonly needed, one for the front and one for the rear of the rods. When using bank sticks, double buzzbars are generally preferred for greater stability, while with tripods or rod pods they can be found in configurations that allow support for up to 5 rods. One of the main aspects to consider is therefore the number of rod positions available.

The length of a buzzbar is another important factor to consider when choosing the right model, as it determines the distance between the rods. This is especially important when using very large reels, since a short distance may cause them to touch each other, which can make it awkward to lift a rod from the holder when retrieving the rig or playing a fish. If a wider setup is preferred, a longer buzzbar set is the better solution. If, however, you prefer a more compact arrangement, for example on small pontoons or narrow fishing spots, a shorter set will be more suitable. It is also worth mentioning that on some buzzbars, the distance between the positions is adjustable, allowing anglers to adapt the setup to the fishing conditions.
