Putty is the common name for tungsten putty, a non-toxic material that has weight properties similar to lead, while being far more malleable and flexible.

Tungsten has a high density and is easy to use. It can be shaped easily between the fingers and adheres well to fishing lines. Softer variants can also be applied to braided hooklinks to improve their sinking properties and help the rig sit better on the bottom. Putty is an excellent choice for setups using pop-up baits, as it allows precise balancing of the bait, ensuring the rig settles properly on the substrate and performs with very effective mechanics.
