Waggler Floats

Waggler floats represent a distinct category of floats designed for match fishing technique and can include both floats with a bulb (the main body is positioned at the bottom of the float) such as sliders or unweighted wagglers, as well as long pencil or stick-style floats. Unlike a classic float for rod fishing, whether it be a telescopic, whip, or bolo, which is attached at the top of the stem and at the bottom on the rod tip with varnishes, a waggler is a float attached only at the bottom. The line typically passes through a loop or pivot at the base and is usually secured in place with lead shots or stop knots. There are dozens of waggler models to fit all types of fishing situations.

Due to their shape and the fact that they are secured at a single point, wagglers allow for casts at much greater distances than any other type of float. They can have multiple interchangeable antenna endings to enhance visibility in various fishing conditions.

What is a slider float?

Fishing with a slider uses a sliding waggler to fish in deeper waters. If the water is deeper than the length of the rod and we need to fish near the bottom, it becomes impossible to cast if the float is stuck on the line, so it must be able to slide to the depth we set. With a slider float, secured at the bottom with weights, it slides up to a sliding knot made on the main line, which moves through the rod's guides. This knot allows us to fish at any depth we desire.
