A lead clip is a plastic component designed to release the lead if it becomes snagged or jammed during the fight. With the help of this device, the lead can detach easily from the rig, allowing the fish to be landed more safely and without unnecessary difficulty. A new lead can then be fitted quickly, making it easy to restore the rig. A lead clip setup also helps protect the fish in the event of a line break during the fight, since the release of the lead reduces the risk of the fish being forced to drag it continuously. Clip connectors are complementary components specifically designed to be used together with clips, and in some cases with anti-tangle tubing, to create a setup that reduces the risk of tangles while also allowing the lead to discharge properly.
