Catapults
A catapult is an accessory used for quickly transporting large amounts of bait and lures over considerable distances. A catapult (also known in English as a spod) is essentially a rocket-shaped cylinder, whose conical end is usually buoyant. The cylindrical body can be loaded with bait or lure, from groundbait to pellets, corn to boilies, or other particles. The catapult is launched towards the area where we want to fish using dedicated rods. The buoyant conical end ensures that the catapult flips over when it hits the water, allowing it to release its load of bait or particles each time. A unique variant of catapults is the spomb, as well as spomb-type catapults, which are completely sealed but open upon water impact to release their load.
Catapults come in a variety of types and sizes, from the smallest that can be launched with regular fishing rods to larger models capable of carrying significant amounts of lure at once, which will require launching with dedicated rods (spod rods).
Aside from the model (cylinder or spomb) and their size difference, some catapults may have multiple perforations on their side walls, while others may have none at all. These perforations can help with the quick release of the catapult as well as allowing water to drain easily when retrieving the catapult from the area. However, if you want to introduce small seeds, micro pellets, or worms, catapults with very few perforations in the side walls are recommended.
