The use of 3-layer technology in Shimano Technium lines is one of the key strengths that has positively influenced anglers' trust, making it one of the most used monofilaments to date. The new improvements introduced by the Japanese manufacturer have contributed to creating a line whose strength and abrasion resistance have increased, while the elasticity coefficient remained within the same 12% range, which is half that of other monofilaments on the market.

This matters greatly for casting accuracy, as well as better control of fish during the fight. Also, a low-elasticity line like Technium, used for long-distance pegging fishing, will indicate even the slightest bite with much higher precision compared to ordinary monofilaments.

The 3 layers that make up this line have different but essential characteristics for a monofilament: the first layer (core) is heavier and has fast sinking properties, the second layer provides suppleness to the line and helps achieve longer casting distances, and the last layer protects against UV rays and ensures increased abrasion resistance.
