The Preston Intensity reels were designed with one thing in mind: fishing at considerable distances with maximum precision. These reels were developed in collaboration with renowned angler Lee Kerry, who spent countless hours testing, tuning, and significantly enhancing this model. Preston specialists recommend these reels for both regular feeder fishing on rivers or smaller waters, as well as for method feeder fishing at long distances.

It features important characteristics such as the innovative Powerdrive system, a large CNC machined aluminum spool, robust yet very lightweight materials, a new compact design, and the reliable slow oscillation "worm drive" technology that provides superior line lay on the spool, even when using thin lines. As a premium model, Preston engineers have introduced a new innovative system called SDS (Speed Drag System) with an adjustable micrometric brake. This adjustment system allows for quick modification of brake tension, ideal during the fight with large fish.

Each model is equipped with a shallow spool, allowing the reel to be fitted with thin lines suitable for achieving long distances, while significantly improving casting performance and ensuring proper line lay. The thin-edged spools, which allow free line release during casts, feature two clips, an important aspect in feeder fishing when accessing multiple spots.

After extensive testing, Preston specialists found that these reels perform better and are better balanced when equipped with a solid handle. The large aluminum handle, combined with an optimal retrieval ratio, assists in the speed of retrieval of the rig or during the fight when bringing fish from long distances.

The reel’s pickup is manufactured with a robust and thick 3mm aluminum wire, enhancing the reel's durability, both during fishing and while transporting it. By using a new graphite material for the body and rotor, Preston engineers have managed to significantly reduce the weight of the reel.
