The 8K model retains the specific design and basic features of Okuma reels, such as the rotor brake system, brush-sealed rotor, anti-reverse system, but includes improvements in all functions. The 8K reel is equipped with the Worm Shaft system and the "Slow Oscillation System" that makes the line straighter and tighter, significantly reducing friction during casts.

The reel features a corrosion-resistant graphite body, 6 (5BB+1RB) stainless steel bearings, fast progressive drag system (FPD), Hydro Block system (prevents dirt and water from entering the reel body), cyclone flow rotor (CFR), brush-protected rotor (prevents line twist), long-cast aluminum spool, two spool clips, and a zinc handle with a wooden knob.
