The Daiwa Emblem 45 SCW QD is a reel featuring a DS4 polycarbonate body that offers both reduced weight and increased durability. The rotor is made from Zaion, a material derived from processing high-density carbon fibers. Zaion's strength is roughly equivalent to magnesium and is twice as strong as nylon/ABS, while its weight is 20% lighter than nylon/ABS and 50% lighter than aluminum.

The Tough DigiGear system includes a digitally developed gear set designed to handle high pulling forces. The pinion, integrated into the spool housing, transmits the handle power directly to the rotor smoothly and very efficiently. The size of the drive gear, the strength and angle of the gears, as well as the shape and surface of the gear teeth allow the construction of gearboxes with exceptional smoothness, minimal operating resistance, and an extremely long lifespan.

The ultra long cast aluminum spool (with a spool stroke of 45mm) and the slow oscillation system combined with the Slow Cross Wrap™ line lay system enable even line distribution and greatly reduce friction, resulting in significantly improved casting distances. The round HIP clip protects the line and is very helpful when the baiting spot needs to be reached with precision. The CNC-machined aluminum handle is equipped with a soft rubber knob that feels very comfortable, even with wet fingers.
