Standard lanterns lose battery power over time even when turned off because the batteries are never completely disconnected from the electric circuit. With the patent-pending Coleman BatteryLock™ technology and a simple twist of the lantern head, batteries draining without use will be a thing of the past.
Deactivating batteries for storage
Simply activate the BatteryLock™ function and the red band appears: the bulb is now completely disconnected from the battery compartment and the lantern is ready for storage.
Activating batteries for use
Twist the lantern head in the opposite direction until the red band disappears, the batteries connect with the electronic circuit, and the lantern is ready to use.
