It is the world’s first 40HP engine designed with innovative systems such as Lean Burn (which provides the optimal fuel and air mixture depending on navigation conditions) and Battery-Less Electronic Fuel Injection (a system that offers remarkable improvements in fuel consumption while maintaining power and performance at a high level).

Performance is guaranteed by a DOHC engine with a 941 cc displacement, ensuring excellent fuel economy. Thanks to its large displacement and light weight, the DF40A delivers outstanding running performance while also meeting the strictest emission standards. The engine generates enough power for all small boats (and can also be used as an auxiliary motor for larger vessels).

Furthermore, another immediately noticeable feature, besides improved operation and fuel savings, is the tilt system operation which impresses with its high level of comfort. It is easy to lift and position as desired, and the tilt positions allow the motor to be mounted according to the boat’s requirements. The engine is protected against corrosion with a special finish developed by Suzuki’s team of specialists (Anti Corrosion System). Applied directly to the aluminum surface, it maximizes the bond between the coating and the surface, enhancing protection and durability of parts constantly exposed to water.

NOTE: Undersizing a boat motor should be avoided, as the engine will run at higher RPMs, ultimately leading to premature wear and increased fuel consumption. Oversizing a motor can cause difficulties in maneuvering the boat, as well as higher consumption and expenses (consumables, parts, etc.).
