The design and state-of-the-art features make the DF115B the most advanced outboard motor available. Introduced as the successor to the DF115A generation, it comes with new technologies and systems such as an offset driveshaft, allowing the manufacturer to create more compact outboards by shifting the center of gravity forward, improving weight distribution, output power, balance, and vibration reduction. The self-adjusting timing chain operates in an oil bath, requiring no additional lubrication, and is equipped with an automatic hydraulic tensioner, whose biggest advantage is greater reliability compared to belt drives in the same class. The water-in-fuel detection system helps protect the engine by using a fuel filter with an integrated sensor to alert the operator with visual and audible warnings when water is present in the fuel.

Technologies used in this range include digital sequential electronic fuel injection, an impressive 2.59:1 gear ratio, a propeller shaft, and an enhanced compression ratio of 10.6:1. Suzuki DF115B outboards are designed with proven torsion bar technology and crankshaft displacement, which together rank this motor first among its class peers in weight and overall dimensions. The Lean Burn system (which supplies the right fuel-to-air mixture based on navigation conditions) and Battery-Less Electronic Fuel Injection (a system delivering remarkable fuel consumption improvements while maintaining high power and performance) are also featured in this type of engine.

This motor reflects Suzuki specialists’ determination to bring advanced and efficient technology benefits into a compact, lightweight 4-stroke engine. Performance is guaranteed by a 2045cc DOHC engine, providing excellent fuel efficiency. Thanks to its large displacement and reduced weight, the DF115B delivers excellent running performance while meeting even the strictest emission standards. The motor produces enough power for all medium-sized boats.

Equipped with Suzuki Easy Start, simply turn the key to the start position and release it immediately. There is no need to hold the key as before, engaging the electric starter until the engine starts. The DF115B starter will continue to turn automatically until the moment of ignition, but no more than 4 seconds. To ensure smooth and reliable starting, efficient combustion, and economy, the system is also equipped with cylinder control elements, injectors, and ignition. Salt deposits, sand, and dirt in the engine’s cooling system can cause engine failure. For easy engine flushing, the mount is equipped with two flushing ports. One is located on the side, providing easy access and convenient flushing of the system whether the boat is in the water or on land. The new tilt limiter device prevents damage to the engine cowling and/or transom at maximum tilt angle. The tilt limiter and tilt angle sensor are combined into a single element, allowing you to set the maximum tilt angle smoothly, unlike partial settings in previous versions.

The engine is protected from corrosion with a special finish developed by Suzuki's specialist team (Anti Corrosion System). Applied directly to the aluminum surface, it maximizes the bond between the finish and the surface, enhancing protection and durability of parts constantly exposed to water.

NOTE: Underpowering a boat should be avoided, as the engine will rev higher, leading to premature wear of parts and increased fuel consumption. Overpowering a boat can cause handling difficulties and very high running costs (consumables, parts, etc.).
