The design and latest features make the DF115B the most advanced outboard motor available. Launched as the replacement for the DF115A generation, it comes with new technologies and systems such as an offset driveshaft, which allows the manufacturer to create smaller outboards by moving the weight center forward, improving weight distribution, output power, balance, and vibration reduction. The self-adjusting timing chain operates in an oil bath, so it requires no additional lubrication and is equipped with an automatic hydraulic tensioner, whose biggest advantage is higher reliability compared to belt-driven systems in the same class. The fuel water detection system helps protect the engine using a fuel filter with an integrated sensor to alert the operator with visual and audible warnings when water is present in the fuel.

Technologies used in this range include digital sequential electronic fuel injection, an impressive 2.59:1 gear ratio, a propeller shaft, and an improved 10.6:1 compression ratio. Suzuki DF115B outboards are designed with proven torsion bar technology and crankshaft displacement, which together make this engine the leader among its class peers in terms of weight and overall size. The Lean Burn system (providing the exact fuel and air mixture based on navigation conditions) and Battery-Less Electronic Fuel Injection (a system that delivers remarkable improvements in fuel consumption while maintaining high power and performance) are also present on this engine type.

This motor demonstrates Suzuki specialists' determination to bring the benefits of advanced and efficient technology into a compact and lightweight 4-stroke engine. Performance is guaranteed by a DOHC engine with a 2045cc displacement, ensuring excellent fuel consumption. Due to its large displacement and low weight, the DF115B delivers excellent running performance while also meeting the most stringent emissions standards. The motor produces enough power for all medium-sized boats.

Equipped with the Suzuki Easy Start system, it is enough to turn the key to the start position and release it immediately. There is no need to hold the key as before, activating the electric starter until the engine starts. The DF115B starter will continue turning on its own until the engine starts but no longer than 4 seconds. To ensure smooth and safe starting, more efficient combustion, and economy, the system is also equipped with control elements for the engine cylinders, injectors, and ignition. Salt deposits, sand, and dirt in the engine cooling system can cause engine failure. For easy motor flushing, the mount is equipped with two flushing ports. One is located on the side, providing easy access and convenient system rinsing whether the boat is in the water or on land. The new motor tilt limiter prevents damage to the engine cover and/or the transom at maximum tilt angle. The tilt limiter and tilt angle sensor are integrated as a single unit, allowing you to set the maximum tilt angle smoothly, unlike partially adjustable previous versions.

The engine is protected from corrosion with a special finish developed by Suzuki’s specialist team (Anti Corrosion System). Applied directly to the aluminum surface, it maximizes the bond between the coating and the surface, enhancing the protection and durability of parts constantly exposed to water.

NOTE: Underpowering a boat should be avoided, as the engine will run at higher RPMs, leading to premature wear of parts and increased fuel consumption. Overpowering a boat can make handling difficult and result in very high consumption and expenses (consumables, parts, etc.).
