The state-of-the-art design and features make the DF100B the most advanced outboard engine available. Since 2018, the DF100B engine has been produced on the same platform. Suzuki’s range also includes another 100HP option, the DF100A. Unlike the 100B, it is based on the DF115A/DF140A. It has a larger cylinder volume and weight. In any case, potential Suzuki engine owners now have a wider range to choose from. The technology used in this range includes digital sequential electronic fuel injection, an impressive 2.59 to 1 gear ratio, a propeller shaft, and a camshaft with a hydraulically self-adjusting timing chain requiring no maintenance. The chain drive was introduced for the first time on Suzuki engines with the launch of this range. The Suzuki DF 100 BTX outboard engines are designed with proven technology for the torsion bar and crankshaft displacement, which together place this engine at the top among its class peers regarding weight and overall dimensions. The Lean Burn system (which delivers the optimal fuel and air mixture depending on sailing conditions) and the Battery-Less Electronic Fuel Injection (a system that offers remarkable improvements in fuel consumption while maintaining power and performance at a high level) are also present in this type of engine.

Performance is guaranteed by a DOHC engine with a displacement of 1502cc, providing excellent fuel efficiency. Equipped with the Suzuki Easy Start system, simply turn the key to the start position and release it immediately. There is no need to hold the key as before, activating the electric starter until the engine starts. The Suzuki DF 100 BTX starter will continue to spin by itself until the engine starts, but no longer than 4 seconds. To ensure smooth and safe starting, more efficient combustion, and fuel savings, the system is also equipped with control elements for the engine cylinders, injectors, and ignition. Salt deposits, sand, and dirt in the engine cooling system can cause engine failure. For easy engine washing, the mount is equipped with two flushing ports. One is located on the side, ensuring easy access and convenient system flushing whether the boat is in the water or ashore. The new engine tilt limiter prevents damage to the engine cover and/or the boat transom at maximum tilt angles. The tilt limiter and tilt angle sensor are designed as a single unit. This allows you to set the maximum tilt angle without issues, unlike previous versions, which only allowed partial adjustment.

The engine is protected against corrosion with a special finish developed by Suzuki’s team of specialists (Anti Corrosion System). Applied directly to the aluminum surface, it maximizes the bond between the finish and the surface, enhancing protection and durability of parts that are constantly exposed to water.

NOTE: Underpowering a boat is to be avoided, as the engine will have to work harder, eventually leading to premature wear of parts and increased fuel consumption. Overpowering a boat can cause difficulties in handling, as well as very high consumption and expenses (consumables, parts, etc.).
