The modern design and features make the DF100B the most advanced outboard engine available. Since 2018, the DF100B has been produced on the same platform. Suzuki’s engine lineup also includes another 100HP variant, the DF100A, which unlike the 100B, is based on the DF115A/DF140A. It has a larger cylinder volume and greater weight. In any case, potential Suzuki engine owners now have a broader range to choose from. Technologies used in this range include digital sequential electronic fuel injection, an impressive 2.59:1 gear ratio, and a camshaft with a hydraulically self-tensioning timing chain requiring no maintenance. The chain drive was introduced to Suzuki engines for the first time with this lineup. Suzuki DF 100 BTL outboards are designed with proven torsion bar technology and crankshaft displacement, which together place this engine at the top of its class in terms of weight and overall dimensions. Lean Burn systems (which provide the optimal fuel-air mixture depending on operating conditions) and Battery-Less Electronic Fuel Injection (a system that delivers remarkable fuel efficiency improvements while maintaining high power and performance) are also featured on this engine type.

This motor showcases Suzuki specialists’ determination to bring the benefits of advanced and efficient technology to a compact and lightweight 4-stroke engine. Performance is guaranteed by a DOHC engine with a displacement of 1502cc, ensuring excellent fuel economy. Thanks to its large displacement and lightweight design, the DF100B delivers outstanding performance, meeting even the most stringent emission standards. It generates ample power for all medium-sized boats.

Equipped with the Suzuki Easy Start system, you only need to turn the key to the start position and release it immediately. There is no need to hold the key as before to engage the electric starter until the engine starts. The Suzuki DF 100 BTL starter will continue to turn on its own until the engine starts, but no longer than 4 seconds. To ensure smooth and reliable starts, more efficient combustion, and fuel savings, the system is also equipped with control elements for engine cylinders, injectors, and ignition. Salt deposits, sand, and dirt in the engine’s cooling system can cause engine failure. For easy engine flushing, the mounting bracket is equipped with two flush ports. One is located on the side, allowing easy access and convenient flushing of the system whether the boat is in the water or onshore. The new tilt limit device prevents damage to the engine cowling and/or the boat transom at the maximum tilt angle. The tilt limiter and tilt angle sensor are made as a single unit. This allows you to set the maximum tilt angle smoothly without partial adjustment as in previous versions.

The engine is protected against corrosion with a special finish developed by Suzuki’s team of specialists (Anti Corrosion System). Applied directly to the aluminum surface, it maximizes the bond between the finish and the surface, enhancing the protection and durability of parts constantly exposed to water.

NOTE: Underpowering a boat is to be avoided, as the engine will run at higher RPMs, leading to premature wear of parts and increased fuel consumption. Overpowering a boat can create handling difficulties and result in very high consumption and expenses (consumables, parts, etc.).
