The Simms company was founded in 1980 by a visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the needs to keep top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer, no matter the weather.

The Guide Shirt is a base layer that offers enhanced sun protection. The men’s shirt is constructed with moisture-wicking fabric, dries quickly, and provides UPF 50 performance. The mesh-lined back panel allows air to circulate to keep you cool, and extended sun cuffs help protect from harmful sun rays. Three zippered fly box-compatible pockets add storage space. This stylish shirt is made with UPF 50 sun protection.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun’s UV radiation is blocked. A fabric rated 50 lets through only 1/50th of UV rays. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last for the lifetime of the garment.
