X Power is a classic eye hook with a short shank and a wide gape design. It's extremely popular among carp anglers, as this type of hook minimizes the chances of fish escaping once hooked. TIP: If you do not extend the braid to the tip of the shank, the hook will tend to point upward when lifted off the bottom. This way, the chances of snagging the fish's lip are higher than if you extended the braid along the entire length of the shank.
