The Helios SX is a spinning reel developed by the Okuma team of specialists. It is equipped with modern technologies and features, making it very lightweight (significantly reducing the weight of the entire setup) while maintaining strength, rigidity, and smooth operation. The reel features premium gears made from the highest quality materials that provide unmatched performance and high durability. Additionally, it is equipped with a wide range of Okuma technologies. The Centrifugal Disc Bail (CDB) design includes a heavier, perfectly balanced brass disc to create smooth pick-up arm operation. CDB enhances the power and stability of the pick-up. The Okuma 1-K carbon fiber drag knob is lightweight and creates progressive drag settings. Progressive drag allows you to customize the adjustment for specific conditions and target fish or tweak the drag during a long fight.

Okuma’s C-40X long fiber technology uses a special polymer and graphite blend. The carbon fibers in this material are elongated and strengthened, creating a composite substantially stronger than standard graphite. Being 25% lighter, 50% stronger, and 100% corrosion-resistant, C-40X results in an extremely lightweight and durable construction. The Cyclonic Flow Rotor (CFR) was designed to create "cyclonic" airflow, significantly increasing air circulation around the rotor, under and around the spool, with every turn of the handle. This well-tested design allows for much faster drying time, minimizing corrosion and extending the spool's lifespan.

The one-piece TCA(TM) design was built using C-40X carbon fiber technologies and features two arms. Compared to traditional single-arm models, the double-arm TCA(TM) offers greater torsional and bending resistance under high pressure for improved strength. This not only makes the reel lighter but also extremely rigid, ensuring all internal parts stay perfectly aligned.
