The Okuma Ceymar is a reel designed based on the concept of power at the gear level. The reel uses a robust and oversized drive gear called HDG-II (High Density, Oversized Gearing). The gear stabilization system increases the reel's power, and the main shaft is built to reduce friction with the pinion gear (Pinion Gear). The reel is lighter and runs smoother. The Ceymar series includes reels from size 1000 to size 5000.

The reels are produced with gear ratios of 5.2:1, 6.0:1 (the product code includes the letter H for "High Gear Ratio"), or 6.2:1 (the product code includes the letter X for "Extreme Gear Ratio"). For reels with a shallow spool capacity, the product code includes the letter S. The Okuma Ceymar reels have a modern, attractive look, solid construction, and a series of advantageous specifications for a wide range of applications.

In most reels, friction between the pinion gear and the shaft causes resistance noticeable when turning the handle. To reduce friction and achieve the smoothest rotation possible, the space inside the pinion gear has been increased. The reel is lighter and runs smoother. Even Flow Roller (EFR) metal roller. The shape of the roller is designed to reduce line twist. The roller has a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating with a low friction coefficient to protect the line, increased hardness, and corrosion resistance.
