The lure should be moved by lifting and lowering the rod tip with short, energetic motions, just like a twitch. It should have an up & down movement in the water column, then be allowed to sink toward the bottom. Additionally, this lure is suitable for classic fishing in open waters, producing strong vibrations even during slow retrieves.

For maximum effectiveness and better control of the lure, it's very important to fish with a highly sensitive rod and as thin a line as possible. It’s recommended to test the lure in shallow, clear water to find the optimal "activation" speed of the lure. The Chubby should vibrate strongly both when lifted and lowered. After each cycle, you should pause for 2-10 seconds (depending on the species targeted).
