The GMR 434 xHD3 is an open-array radar designed for consistent target detection and clear display at all ranges. Scan averaging reduces sea clutter and interference, while angular target size adjustment optimizes object outlines on the screen for easy interpretation.

The 100kt-rated open-array antennas support rotation speeds of 24/48rpm, providing fast image refresh. The narrow horizontal beam and antenna gain help separate distant targets, and the 4kW version delivers a maximum range of 72nm and a minimum range of 20m (with compatible overlay sensors, sold separately).

True Echo Trails show the historical track of vessels, eliminating the effect of relative movement to identify moving targets and collision hazards. Dual Range with Overlay mode allows two independent ranges to be displayed side-by-side or overlaid on compatible charts. Dual-Radar support adds redundancy, while MARPA, Guard Zone, and VRM/EBL indicators assist with quick distance and bearing measurements.
