Daiwa Basia 45 SCW QD Reel

The Basia 45 SCW QD is a Big Pit reel that represents the top of the range from the Japanese manufacturer Daiwa. The ultra long cast aluminum spool (with an ultra-long 45mm stroke) and the slow oscillation system together with the Slow Cross Wrap™ line lay system allow for even distribution of the coils and significantly reduced friction, resulting in greatly improved casting distances. The round HIP clip protects the line and is especially useful when you need to precisely reach the baited area.

The reel body and rotor are made from Zaion® (a special material processed from "High Density" carbon fibers) while the CNC-machined "Tough Digigear" gearing provides outstanding power transmission making it easier to reel in rigs, while also offering excellent control of fighting fish during the battle. The front "QD" Quick Drag carbon disc drag can be switched from fully tight to fully free with just a half turn of the star drag. The reel comes with an additional aluminum spare spool (identical to the main spool).

Zaion® Body / Rotor - is an incredibly durable and lightweight material, ideal for constructing reel bodies or rotors. Zaion is made from processing "High Density" carbon fibers. Zaion’s strength is roughly equivalent to magnesium and twice as strong as nylon/ABS, with a weight 20% lighter than nylon/ABS and 50% lighter than aluminum.

Slow Cross Wrap® - is a special cross-wrap line lay technology on the spool. This technology significantly reduces tangling around the spool shaft. Additionally, the unique winding means more line is loaded onto the spool, resulting in extreme casting distances.

Tough DigiGear® - a digitally developed high-speed gearing designed to handle high tensile forces. Built into the spool body, it transmits crank power directly to the rotor smoothly and extremely efficiently. The size of the drive gear, strength and gear angle, and the shape and surface of the gear teeth allow the construction of gearboxes with exceptional smoothness, minimal resistance during use, and an extremely long lifespan.

Twist Buster® II - sophisticated system (patent no. EP0876760B1) that reduces line twist to a minimum. The latest Twist Buster II system significantly reduces friction between the line and the roller, preventing line breakage.

Infinite Anti-Reverse® - a roller bearing that allows the rotor to rotate in only one direction.Only the highest quality steel parts with the tightest tolerances are used here.

NOTE: The Basia 45 SCW QD reel is delivered with a main Shallow spool (narrow) and a backup Compact spool (deep) with large line capacity, specifically 0.35mm/530m.
