Buzzbars
A buzzbar is essentially a bar that screws onto a bank stick or rod pod and, along with support heads or alarms, allows the holding of two or more rods. Buzzbars come in a variety of configurations and sizes. Their name comes from their most common use, namely to support electronic alarms (referred to in English as buzzers, where bar means rod, thus combining the two terms gives us the name buzzbar – literally translating to "support rod for alarms").
Buzzbars therefore effectively complete the setup, together with a bank stick, tripod, or rod pod, and a support head, to hold the rods. Of course, in practice, we will most often need two buzzbars, one to support the front and one for the back of the rods. When using bank sticks, only double buzzbars are preferred for stability, while when using tripods or rod pods, they can reach configurations that allow support for up to 5 rods. Therefore, one key aspect we may be interested in is the number of positions, implicitly the number of rods that can be supported.
The length of buzzbars is, therefore, another factor to consider when choosing a buzzbar, which we decide based on the distance we desire between rods. It is important in this sense to keep in mind that with very large reels, a small distance may mean that they will touch each other, making it difficult when we want to lift a rod from the holder to retrieve the rig or fight with a fish. When a more spaced-out configuration is desired, the solution is to opt for a set of long buzzbars, but if you prefer to fish in a more compact way, on small pontoons or narrow fishing spots, then a set with a shorter length is preferable. It should also be mentioned that for some buzzbars, this distance between positions is adjustable, allowing anglers to decide on the distance configuration based on fishing conditions.
