Utopia Baits Expander Pellets can be used both as hook bait and as groundbait. The dry expandable pellets float. This feature can be used by anglers to successfully replace floating hook baits or even wafters when the situation calls for it. Being 100% fish food, expandable pellets are far superior to any "imitation" floating pellets used as hook bait. They can be used with elastic bands for hair rig setups. They also have an exceptional advantage (depending on how they are balanced).

Using them dry, within 10-15 minutes we can have 3 distinct presentations of the bait on the bottom: fully floating, critically balanced (hook lying on the bottom with the bait in the water column), or original wafter (bait on the bottom lightly affected by even the smallest water currents). This is due to water acting on the pellets and reducing their buoyancy. Expandable pellets can be prepared using a pellet vacuum pump or even a regular syringe; through this process, air is removed from them and they can be moistened to obtain pellets with an increased diameter, zero stickiness, a gummy texture, and neutral weight (although they will sink, they will not embed in the mud).
