Shimano Ultegra XTD Reel

The Shimano Ultegra XTD reel will pleasantly surprise you at first glance, primarily due to major changes in its aesthetics. A new feature for this model is the spare spool that includes 4 line capacity options (2x10,000 / 2x3,500). These options allow adjusting the spool capacity based on the line diameter used. Another highly appreciated feature among carp anglers is the "Instant Drag" braking system, which allows quick adjustment of the drag from minimum to maximum.

Bearings 1 x S A-RB + 3 Shielded Stainless Steel + Roller Bearing – These S-ARB bearings are corrosion-resistant, further protected by sealing to enhance protection against sand, salt, and dust.

Parallel Body – The reel's shaft and spool are parallel to the rod blank, reducing line friction against the blank. By reducing friction, longer casting distances are achieved.

AR-C Spool – A new spool design with a V-shaped lip ensures the line lays in smaller loops for more accurate long-distance casts. The AR-C spool also minimizes backlash risk.

Aero Wrap II – A special two-speed winding system that lays the line in an X pattern, facilitating long casts without tangles.

Dyna Balance – Computerized rotor balancing that reduces reel play and ensures exceptional performance.

Floating Shaft II – The key friction point in most fixed spool reels is where the spool drive shaft meets the pinion gear. Shimano designers addressed this by reducing much of the contact surface and incorporating bearings on both sides of the shaft. This design leaves the shaft in a 'floating' position, significantly improving efficiency and durability.

Super Slow Oscillation 50 – During one full spool rotation up and down, the rotor lays 50 coils. This line lay combined with other technologies (AR-C Spool, Super Slow Oscillation, and Parallel Body) improves line placement on the spool and thereby enables casting to extreme distances.

Super Stopper II – An advanced and improved anti-reverse mechanism.

X-Ship – Dual bearing support on the pinion shaft for smooth retrieval and increased power.

Easy Maintenance – This feature allows lubrication of the reel's internal gearing without disassembly. A small oil port is standard on all reels from the SR and S series, which, when opened, permits applying manufacturer-approved lubricant directly inside the mechanism.
