Shimano Ultegra XSD Reel

The new Shimano Ultegra 14000 XSD reel will pleasantly surprise you from the first glance, mainly due to the major aesthetic changes. A new feature for this model is the spare spool that includes 4 line capacity options (2x10,000 / 2x3,500). With these capacities, you can adjust the spool according to the line diameter used. Another highly appreciated feature by carp anglers is the "Instant Drag" braking system that allows quick drag adjustment (from minimum to maximum).

Bearings 1 x S A-RB + 3 Shielded Stainless Steel + Roller Bearing - these S-ARB bearings are corrosion-resistant, additionally sealed to improve protection against sand, salt, or dust.

Parallel Body - the reel’s shaft and spool are parallel to the rod blank, reducing line friction on the blank. By reducing friction, longer casting distances can be achieved.

AR-C Spool - a new spool design with a V-shaped lip that ensures the line forms smaller loops for more accurate long-distance casts. The AR-C spool minimizes backlash risk.

Aero Wrap II - a special two-speed line lay system in an X pattern, facilitating long casts without tangles.

Dyna Balance - computerized rotor balancing reduces reel play and ensures exceptional performance.

Floating Shaft II - the key friction point in most fixed-spool reels is where the spool drive shaft meets the pinion gear. Shimano designers overcame this by reducing much of the contact surface and incorporating bearings on both sides of the shaft. The resulting design "floats" the shaft, greatly improving efficiency and durability.

Super Slow Oscillation 50 - for each full rotation of the spool up and down, the rotor lays 50 wraps of line. This line lay, combined with other technologies (AR-C Spool, Super Slow Oscillation, and Parallel Body), improves line placement on the spool and allows for extreme distance casting.

Super Stopper II - advanced and improved anti-reverse system.

X-Ship - dual bearing shaft support for smooth retrieves and extra power.

Easy Maintenance - this feature allows lubrication of the reel’s internal gears without disassembly. A small oiling port is included on all SR and S series reels, enabling manufacturer-approved lubricant to be applied directly inside the mechanism.
