The new generation of reels also includes the patented SilentDrive technology, which focuses on delivering smooth and quiet operation of all gears. This technology eliminates unnecessary noise and vibration to provide noticeably superior performance. The enhanced spool also features the patented Japanese Propulsion Line Management system, which improves casting performance. This concept uses a slightly oversized, atypical spool shape, giving the angler the ability to make accurate long casts and preventing unwanted loops. In this combination of technologies and high-quality finishes, the aluminum handle with a Soft Touch knob should not be overlooked.

Sizes up to and including 2500 have an "I"-shaped knob; the others have a "T"-shaped knob.
