The Shimano Baitrunner ST FB reel is the compact version of the renowned Baitrunner system, developed for feeder fishing, stationary fishing and other techniques that require a compact reel with a freespool function. Designed for anglers just starting out as well as those looking for an affordable, reliable solution, it combines ease of use with Shimano’s proven technologies.

The Baitrunner system allows the fish to take line freely before the hookset, and it is disengaged automatically by simply turning the handle. Its intuitive and reliable operation ensures trouble-free use, making it suitable even for less experienced anglers.

The body and rotor are made from XT-7 composite material, offering a balance between low weight and strength. The Varispeed system ensures even line lay on the spool, improving casting accuracy and distance — an important advantage when fishing on small lakes or near obstacles.

The 2500 size model is recommended for feeder fishing and for use with a bait cage or lead on small waters, being suitable for carp and other hard-fighting species. The 4000 version offers greater capacity and extra power, adapted for general still fishing and larger species.
