The smallest size (3000) is suitable for float or feeder fishing at short distances, the 4000 size is ideal for larger floats or medium-distance feeder fishing, and the 5000 size is perfect for long-distance feeder fishing. With a G-Free CI4+ body and rotor, all sizes are lightweight, with the 4000 version weighing only 250g, significantly reducing weight compared to similar models.

An additional advantage you will immediately notice is the smooth, precise rotation, resulting from the CI4+ rotor construction and Hagane Gear, X-Ship, and Silent Drive technologies. Features also include a cold-forged aluminium spool (AR-C Cold Forged Aluminium) that has a line reducer. The 5000 version is equipped with an additional reducer for use with braided lines when targeting long casts. Power is delivered by the screw-in handle and metal line clip.

It features a Ci4+ body, an advanced version of Shimano’s original patented CI4 material. This ultra-strong carbon material maintains 2.5 times more rigidity than CI4. While improving weight and stiffness, the body remains compact. Hagane Gear technology ensures smooth and precise internal gear operation. Precision cold forging is a key feature in Shimano’s material processing. The raw material is not machined but shaped under very high pressure, resulting in perfect cohesion that translates to strength and longevity of the part – in this case the gear, which is the heart of every reel.

The new rotor design (Magnumlite Rotor) delivers smoother operation. The previously symmetrical rotor profile is now asymmetrical. The G Free Body is an innovative technology that repositions the center of gravity closer to the spool, significantly reducing hand fatigue during fishing. Also, the ARC Spool ensures smaller line loops on release while providing longer and more accurate casts, minimizing friction between the line and spool. The X-SHIP system enhances durability of the pinion gear while eliminating rotor twisting and flexing. Supported by bearings at both ends, the pinion maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means gears stay perfectly meshed even under the heaviest loads.
