The inline rig, also more commonly known as "in line," is one of the most used rigs for carp fishing. The inline rig is considered by experts to provide the most effective self-hooking, a quality attributed to the way the leader is attached, being inserted directly into the head of the lead. Thus, during bait suction, the leader stretches, and at the slightest movement of the fish, the lead will react strongly, creating that self-hooking effect.
