The ESP Cryogen Stiff Rigger is a teflon-coated hook with an eye slightly angled outward, a medium shank, and micro barb, specially designed for Chod and D-Rig rigs or other setups intended for floating baits. The hooks are made from forged Japanese steel, feature a PTFE finish, and the sharp tip created with a special technology ensures a long-lasting lifespan. This hook is ideal for fishing in snaggy areas and gravel zones.

These hooks are currently about 25% stronger than their predecessors, while maintaining the finesse and subtlety of the rig. They are highly effective in a wide variety of bait presentations, and their shape prevents the hook from being dislodged or coming loose from the fish's mouth.

The initial launch of ESP Cryogen hooks in March 2016 caused a huge stir among renowned anglers, due to their exceptional technical advantages. They resulted from over three years of development and field testing, culminating in a new standard of strength and reliability.

New manufacturing techniques, including high and cryogenic temperatures, have produced much stronger hooks. Cryogenic tempering is a process used to improve the molecular structure of the steel, which in turn reduces stress and enhances wear resistance.

Initial tests proved that the new heat treatment combined with heavy forging methods resulted in hooks that were 25-30% stronger than other PTFE-coated carp hooks. The hooks were also subjected to independent scientific tests regarding hardness and tensile strength, with the results confirming the initial conclusions.
