Now in its fourth generation, the Banax Helicon 5600NF model stands out primarily for its robust gearing and metal body. Although it has a considerable weight, it offers reliability and power reserve when battling large fish. The reel is equipped with 6 stainless steel ball bearings positioned at key points in the gearing. The reel body is made from corrosion-resistant metal and features a compact design. The front drag has fine adjustment. The reel also has an adjustable anti-reverse brake located at the rear.

The aluminum “long-cast” spool can hold no less than 480m of 0.30mm diameter line, one of the strengths that have made the Helicon a popular reel. The spool features a thin, titanium-coated lip, two attributes that help achieve long-distance casts. The shape of the spool and its lip allows smooth line release with minimal friction during casting. The titanium coating provides increased durability, allowing trouble-free use of braided lines. The Banax Helicon 5600NF reel comes with a spare graphite spool.

The oversized pick-up reduces line friction during casting. The oversized metal roller reduces line friction during retrieval. The metal handle has an ergonomic design and is foldable for easier storage and transport. The screw-mount system allows the handle to be fitted on either the right or left side of the reel. The oversized handle knob is made from a rubberized material that provides excellent grip even when your hand is wet.
