Rasant Novec 1230 ABC is an automatic fire extinguishing system designed to protect enclosed compartments, primarily used in boat engine compartments. The system operates independently and can activate automatically in the event of a fire, without requiring a person to operate it.

When the temperature in the protected compartment reaches 93°C, the system triggers automatically and releases the extinguishing agent. This operation allows intervention in the initial phase of a fire and helps limit its spread within the compartment.

The system uses the 3M Novec 1230 extinguishing agent, noted for its low electrical conductivity and for leaving no residue after use. For this reason, it can be used to protect compartments containing engines, electrical installations and other sensitive equipment.

The 4kg variant is the ND 4 AL model and is designed to protect a volume of up to 5m³. The system is suitable for A, B and C class fires, covering solid materials, flammable liquids and gases.

To keep the system in working order, periodic inspection is required at intervals of 2 years. After activation, the unit must be recharged to restore its extinguishing capacity.
