The Simms company was founded in 1980 by a visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof waders available at the time did not meet the needs of keeping the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. Thus, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Women Freestone Stockingfoot is a waterproof wader from Simms' range dedicated especially to women, the result of 16,000 hours of field testing. The wader is constructed with durable, breathable Toray® QuadraLam™ four-layer fabric. The boots are compression-molded for enhanced comfort and improved fit. Unlike the Freestone Z Stockingfoot model, this one no longer has a center zipper. The chest area has 3 pockets — one central and two positioned laterally lined inside with microfleece to keep hands warm. For fastening, the wader has two adjustable suspenders and an elastic belt around the waist.
