The sliding (inline) sinker with a flat base is the perfect combination between a classic sinker and modern manufacturing technologies. Without a doubt, the best method for fishing on the Danube or rivers with strong currents is to use spiral feeders, as the bait disperses at a much slower rate. If you also add a sufficiently heavy weight to anchor the rig to the substrate, you get the perfect feeder.

The flat base sinker will always position itself correctly on the substrate and will resist deformation excellently while being bulkier than regular versions, which means it can store a significant amount of bait. The hook with bait can be hidden in the bait or left free, but the leader should never be longer than 20cm. The best results are obtained with leaders of 8-15cm, depending on the bait used.
