After four years of development, Sunline recently launched the Asegai braided line, made with Xplasma technology, which gives it a reduced and perfectly round diameter (improved by up to 370% compared to conventional lines), smooth sliding through the rod guides (improved by up to 260% compared to conventional lines), and enhanced abrasion resistance (improved by up to 117%).

The Xplasma process also significantly enhances the hydrophobic properties (retains very little water) of the Asegai line by over 240% compared to standard similar products, maximizing casting distance and performance. Some of the world’s top anglers using braided lines, such as Aaron Martens, Brent Ehrler, Brett Hite, Jason Christie, Todd Faircloth, and Dean Rojas, contributed to the development of the Xplasma Asegai.

It is a premium Japanese line made from 8 PE fibers (the PE rating comes from the Japanese numbering system, used to measure the diameter of silk lines; the PE rating indicates line diameter and does not represent breaking strength), tightly braided (prevents line fuzzing), which also provides superior breaking strength compared to other competing models on the market.
