Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time did not meet the needs to keep the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get out on the water earlier and stay outdoors longer in any weather.

For warm days during fishing trips, the Solar Flex Hoody lets you enjoy outdoor activities without interruption. The advanced cooling fabric is complemented by high stretch, ensuring great freedom of movement. The shirt has a UPF50 protection factor and a special hood design that guards against UV rays while maintaining comfort.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun’s UV radiation is blocked. A fabric with a rating of 30 allows only 1/30 of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes by Simms last the entire lifetime of the garment.
