Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades giving clients life-changing experiences on the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time did not meet the standards needed to keep top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

When the strong sun threatens to cut a fishing afternoon short, the Simms SolarFlex® Hoody is the perfect solution. It offers enhanced comfort during hot days (thanks to UPF50 sun protection), and the COR3 fabric ensures extremely lightweight, quick-drying apparel, allowing anglers to enjoy fishing or outdoor activities even on the hottest summer days. The durable and flexible sleeve construction provides a wide range of motion, allowing casts from any angle. The hoody features a special flatlock seam finish that feels comfortable against the skin.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is blocked. A fabric with a rating of 50 allows only 1/50 of UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV rays. All UPF finishes by Simms last for the lifetime of the garment.
