Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing customers with life-changing experiences on the world’s most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the standards needed to keep top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any conditions.

The Intruder BiComp Shirt is a base layer that offers enhanced sun protection. This men's shirt is built with a stretchy fabric that wicks moisture, dries quickly, and delivers UPF 30 performance. Stretch side panels allow airflow to keep you cool, and extended knit cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Two fly box-compatible zippered pockets add storage space. The sleek shirt is made with UPF 30 sun protection. The main body and upper sleeves are 100% polyester, 77 g/m², while the side panels and lower sleeves are 92% polyester/8% spandex, 143 g/m².

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun’s UV radiation is blocked. A fabric with a rating of 30 allows only 1/30th of UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes from Simms last the lifetime of the garment.
