Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing customers with life-changing experiences on the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time did not meet the demands of keeping the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Intruder BiComp Shirt is a base layer that offers enhanced sun protection. This men's shirt is constructed with a stretch fabric that wicks moisture, dries quickly, and provides UPF 30 performance. Stretch side panels allow airflow to keep you cool, and extended knit cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Two flybox-compatible zippered pockets add storage space. The sleek shirt is made with UPF 30 sun protection. The body and upper sleeves are 100% polyester, 77 g/m², and the side body panels and lower sleeves are 92% polyester / 8% spandex, 143 g/m²

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric rated 30 allows only 1/30th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All UPF finishes by Simms last for the lifetime of the garment.
