The Simms company was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the needs of keeping the best anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get out on the water earlier and stay longer in any weather.

The Guide Shirt is a base layer that offers enhanced sun protection. This men’s shirt is crafted with moisture-wicking fabric that dries quickly and provides UPF 50 performance. The mesh-lined back panel allows air to circulate to keep you cool, while extended sun cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Three zippered fly-box compatible pockets add extra storage space. The sleek shirt is made with UPF 50 sun protection.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 lets only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last for the lifetime of the garment.
