Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on some of the most majestic rivers in the world, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the needs of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Guide Shirt is a base layer that offers enhanced sun protection. This men's shirt is built with moisture-wicking, quick-drying fabric and delivers UPF 50 performance. The mesh-lined back panel allows airflow to keep you cool, and extended sun cuffs help protect against harmful sun rays. Three zippered flybox-compatible pockets provide additional storage. This stylish shirt is made with UPF 50 sun protection.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much UV radiation from the sun is blocked. A fabric rated 50 allows only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric significantly reduces skin exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last for the lifetime of the garment.
