Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing customers with life-changing experiences on some of the world’s most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the needs of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay out longer in any weather.

The Simms Challenger Insulated Jacket features the best waterproof and breathable technology, providing effective protection even in the harshest weather conditions. Its two-layer Toray® fabric construction, combined with PrimaLoft® Silver thermal insulation, retains body heat while efficiently wicking away sweat. Simms specialists designed a tough 30D 100% nylon outer material, specially engineered to be lightweight, ensuring anglers don’t lose freedom of movement (a feature appreciated by competition anglers). It’s equipped with two side pockets, one positioned front upper and one inside, a high neck guard, adjustable drawcords, and soft inner pocket materials. The durable front zipper with storm flaps withstands repeated use.
