The Simms BugStopper® long-sleeve plaid shirt blocks the sun, dries quickly, repels and fights insect swarms thanks to advanced Insect Shield technology. A polyester-nylon blend with 2 zippered chest pockets that can hold accessory boxes. Articulated elbows enhance mobility, plus it features a sunglass wipe cloth inside the lower hem to help clean your lenses. The traditional fit is standard.

It also offers UPF 50 sun protection, with materials tested using a spectrophotometer to determine how much UV radiation they absorb (for example, a fabric with UPF 50 reduces UV exposure by 98% on covered skin areas). Insect Shield is a technology that provides long-lasting, effective, and convenient insect protection (some insects can carry diseases like West Nile virus or Lyme disease). Clothing equipped with Insect Shield technology acts as a shield repelling mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, or gnats. The active ingredient in Insect Shield is so tightly bonded to the fabric fibers that it maintains permanent effectiveness on the garment.
