Simms was founded in 1980 by visionary angler and longtime guide John Simms. After spending decades providing clients with life-changing experiences on the world’s most majestic rivers, John realized that the waterproof gear available at the time didn’t meet the demands of keeping top anglers dry, comfortable, and safe on the water. So, he set out to create products worthy of a new generation of anglers who, like him, wanted to get on the water earlier and stay longer, no matter the weather.

It’s made of 92% polyester and 8% spandex. The fabric is designed to offer sun protection, be comfortable and stretchy, dry quickly, and resist odors thanks to HeiQ Fresh and HeiQ Stain Away technologies. Additionally, it features Insect Shield for long-lasting and effective insect protection. The hood is knitted and has a central front closure with a ring for a secure fit. It also has extended sleeve length with thumb holes and a loop for the middle finger.

When the blazing sun threatens to cut your fishing afternoon short, the Simms SolarFlex® Hoody is the perfect answer. It provides enhanced comfort during hot days (thanks to UPF50 sun protection). UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor, indicating how much UV radiation from the sun is absorbed. A fabric rated 50 allows only 1/50 of the sun’s UV rays through. This means the fabric will significantly reduce your skin’s exposure to UV radiation. All Simms UPF finishes last the lifetime of the garment.
