The Ultegra XR is the flagship of Shimano's popular Ultegra Big-Pit reel family. Fitted with the latest long-distance casting technologies, including Rigid Cast, this super-light 14000 Big-Pit reel was developed for long-distance casting. Besides impressive casting features, it also stands out for its high-quality gearing that maintains smooth operation even under heavy load.

With a low-key design, a large spool, a compact Ci4+ composite body and some of Shimano's best long-distance casting technologies, the Ultegra XR doesn't disappoint when it comes to equipment.

The reel's low weight allows the rod tip to be accelerated more strongly during the cast, which, combined with Shimano's other long-distance technologies like Rigid Cast, further optimizes casting distance.

Inside the lightweight Ci4+ G-Free body is a combination of Hagane Gear, X-Ship, Infinity Drive and Silent Drive, ensuring smooth and powerful rotation even when the drivetrain is under heavy load during the fight.

In addition, Shimano's long-distance technologies such as Super Slow 5 Oscillation, Parallel Body and Rigid Cast increase casting distance and maximum accuracy. To allow consistent performance in all weather conditions, X-Protect technology prevents water ingress into the reel's moving parts. The Ultegra XR is also equipped with a Hi-Speed Drag, which can be tightened with minimal turns of the drag knob, maintaining control at every stage of the fight.
