The Twin Power XD is a redesigned model, being the most powerful reel in the Magnumlite series. Designed for saltwater fishing, it is equally effective for catching large freshwater predators due to its sensitivity and super-fast gearing. The new ultra-light MGL rotor with quick response ensures precise lure control, while Hagane Gear technology provides amazing strength and durability, contributing to smooth and accurate operation of the internal gears. Micromodule II technology delivers extremely smooth and sensitive rotation, minimizing noise during use. Silent Drive reduces even the slightest backlash, and the oscillations of internal parts have been eliminated to the highest tolerance level.

Combining these technologies with the X-Protect system, which offers high resistance to saltwater on the internal gears, plus the new Long Stroke Spool design of the spool, results in a powerful, lightweight, and durable reel for the toughest saltwater fishing conditions. Additionally, the ARC Spool ensures line release in smaller loops while providing longer and more precise casts, with minimal friction between the line and spool.

The X-SHIP system offers improved durability to the pinion gear while eliminating rotor twisting and flexing. By supporting the pinion on both ends with bearings, it maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay perfectly meshed under the heaviest loads. An additional advantage is the elimination of friction between the spool and gears, which further enhances casting performance with lighter lures or weights. G Free Body is an innovative technology that repositions the center of gravity closer to the rod, reducing hand fatigue during fishing.

It features a Ci4+ body, an advanced version of Shimano's original patented CI4 material. This ultra-strong carbon material provides 2.5 times more rigidity than CI4. While improving weight and rigidity, the body remains compact in size. S-ARB bearings have shields on both sides to reduce the possibility of sand or saltwater interfering with their rotation. DuraCross Drag offers a wider range of brake settings combined with Shimano’s smoothest drag performance.
