The Shimano Technium Deep Drop is a specialist rod for deep-sea fishing, developed for use with Shimano electric reels. It is designed for targeting large species in deep water, where very heavy weights and substantial power reserves are required. The rod is 2.29m long and has a casting weight of 800-1500g, making it the most powerful model in the range and suitable even for fishing in strong currents.

The Full Carbon blank with HPC - High Pressure Carbon technology delivers high strength and progressive action, designed to work efficiently with the drag systems of electric reels. Seaguide Zirconia guides are mounted in a spiral configuration, keeping the line clear of the blank under load and reducing torsion. The rod is fitted with a Pac Bay reel seat, an EVA handle and an aluminium gimbal, while its 1+1 construction with a detachable handle makes it easier to transport.
