The Shimano Talica II multiplying reel is developed for marine big-game fishing, designed for stand-up techniques and for use with braided lines. Its compact construction, two-speed mechanism and lever drag system deliver high control, strong retrieval power and reliability in the most demanding drifts.

The model features a two-speed retrieve transmission, allowing quick switching between high speed—used for fast retrieval of the rig or line—and low speed, which provides high torque for controlling powerful fish. The InfinityDrive system reduces the effort required to turn the handle by approximately 30%, contributing to easier retrieval even when the reel is under heavy load.

For use with different types of line, the Talica II is supplied with an additional cam to adjust the drag characteristics when using monofilament line. The lever drag system allows quick and precise adjustments, and the carbon fiber drag discs provide high braking power and excellent wear resistance.

The S-Compact compact body reduces the reel’s size and weight without compromising the mechanism’s performance. X-Protect prevents saltwater ingress into the mechanism, helping to increase durability in the marine environment. The package is completed by 7 shielded A-RB bearings, brass gears and an aluminum spool for smooth and reliable operation.
